Review:
After three years in a row I will never use Turbo Tax again. There were some serious software glitches for their 2009 offering (2008 taxes) (and, no, I not a newbie when it comes to software, hardware, and how to use Turbo Tax or fill out a tax form). Examples...
  1. For three years in a row Turbo Tax failed to carry over important information to Schedule SE. I had to override.
  2. This year it forced a Schedule C onto my tax return even though I had no private business nor did I sell anything in a private business. It took my mutual funds of all things and called them Schedule C. I called the IRS and they said in no way did I need Schedule C. I overrode and deleted.
  3. Here is the real doozy. After getting my Federal return straightened out Turbo Tax took me to my state return and automatically carried over all my information. Oh, what a suprise I received when Turbo Tax reported to my state that I made $394,000 in 2008 which is $320,000 more than my wife and I made combined. I had to once again override and as it took me through the final steps of the State its Work Sheet, after I corrected it, showed I made $264,000. I had to override again.
    4. Lousy piece of software.
