Rating: It didn't make it clear that it wasn't free if I had to enter 1099-B information.

Rating: Not so much a fan. Kept freezing up regardless of which browser (IE or Firefox) I'd use. Didn't provide recommendation for buying IRA instead of owing federal taxes. Other programs typically do this.

Rating: TurboTax was the worst progam I have ever used. It led me to beleive that I had paid my taxes. I am now in penalty. I had to redo my taxes after wasting a hundred dollars on this product. Definitely not worth the money.

Rating: Greed has taken over the Turbo Tax providers, so I'm saying 'bye bye' to Intuit. Three years ago I tried Taxcut and at that time, it was a disappointment compared to Turbo Tax. I'll try it again this year and if I'm still disappointed, it's back to spreadsheet and JK Lasser. Who knows what I might discover when freed from the computerized mysteries of taxual computations.

Rating: Compared to taxslayer, turbo tax is crap. I got about 4,000 back from taxslayer and turbo tax was only going to get me 900.

Rating: I have purchased Turbo Tax in the past. This year I tried the free version. It looked like a good bet, and we are sufficiently poor to qualify.
I had already spent an hour entering data when I learned that it will not support a schedule C. (My spouse is a part-time minister.) I ended up using onlinetaxpros.com . That worked fine, but I resent the time I spent entering data into Turbo Tax.

Rating: After three years in a row I will never use Turbo Tax again. There were some serious software glitches for their 2009 offering (2008 taxes) (and, no, I not a newbie when it comes to software, hardware, and how to use Turbo Tax or fill out a tax form). Examples...
- For three years in a row Turbo Tax failed to carry over important information to Schedule SE. I had to override.
- This year it forced a Schedule C onto my tax return even though I had no private business nor did I sell anything in a private business. It took my mutual funds of all things and called them Schedule C. I called the IRS and they said in no way did I need Schedule C. I overrode and deleted.
- Here is the real doozy. After getting my Federal return straightened out Turbo Tax took me to my state return and automatically carried over all my information. Oh, what a suprise I received when Turbo Tax reported to my state that I made $394,000 in 2008 which is $320,000 more than my wife and I made combined. I had to once again override and as it took me through the final steps of the State its Work Sheet, after I corrected it, showed I made $264,000. I had to override again.
Lousy piece of software.

Rating: Been using it for years - found out it let me down in 2007 - letter from the IRS - it failed to file my SCH D - but the review stated - no errors found - low audit risk. RIGHT...
