Rating: By far the easiest to use of all the programs I have used. And, it is also the cheapest! It is only $9.95 for all the fees and filings.

Rating: It took less than an hour to file, the information was automatically entered where it should be after entering it only once, was confirmed and accepted the same day, and the Federal return was direct deposited into our account on the next business day.

Rating: It was OK for filing the federal return, but for two years now it has not been possible to file the Massachusetts state tax return. Taxslayer advertises the Massachusetts state return can be filed with their program. However, when the state return prints out there is no circuit breaker credit. This is a $900 credit for people over 65. There is no place to input the credit. If an uninformed taxpayer uses Taxslayer and depends on their expertise they are deprived of $900. Taxslayer is aware of this problem and does nothing to correct it.

Rating: Can't print prior year's IRS form after paying $4.95, no response to complaint. Current year calculation incorrect, and inaccessible help source.

Rating: Got reject codes 0151 and 0156 when tried to submit my federal return. Called Taxslayer, they are not taking calls at all. Called IRS. These reject codes (text included below) are programming errors on the part of taxslayer that causes the return to be bounced out the system.
Concerned also with H. Eosefow's observation. Not sure if taxslayer likewise made gross mistakes in my calculation.
0151: Summary Record - Number of Logical Records in Tax Return (SEQ 0040) must equal the total logical record count computed by the IRS.
0156: Summary Record - Number of Form Records (SEQ 0090) must equal the number of form records computed by the IRS.

Rating: I am 55 years old and just learning how to use a computer, so I decided to try and file my taxes on line using Taxslayer. The online support person, named Savannah, walked me through the entire process from start to finish. Bless her heart, she was professional, kind, patient and even called to let me know the next day, if my taxes were accepted or rejected. She gave me the utmost attention. It is very hard to find such wonderful customer service as I did when I used Taxslayer and Savannah helped me. I would recommend this program to any of my friends. I plan to use this service next year. Thanks Savannah, for making my first experience with taxslayer, the best it could have been. You were a true life saver!!

Rating: Taxslayer is horrible, it does'nt hold a candle stick to Turbotax, by far the most irritating hour of my life and def. The slowest software.

Rating: Been using taxslayer for about three years and I love everything about it. I used both the basic and premium, both do it justice. I never had the IRS hunt me down and write me letters about doing my taxes wrong. It's a great program, and I highly recommend it, especially for service members... its free for active duty, nothing beats free. =)

Rating: This is my second year filing as a married couple. Last year we payed about $135 to get our taxes done at a local tax service company. This year, we went to the same place, and the lady said it would be over $200. She was very nice and mentioned that we could do them online for free at this website. It wasn't free, but $9.95 sure beats over $200, and it was incredibly simple and easy to use!
I would definitely recommend Taxslayer to everyone!

Rating: This is a really hard program to use. If you try to just print your taxes, it never brings up the printer box so you can say what printer you want the copy to go to. Then in goes to a save spin that will not allow you to get out of without shutting down the computer. The pages are set up so you really can't see your tax form just pieces of it. I've used other programs on this. I didn't try it first, I bought the download version and I'm really diaappointed. It's the worst one I've ever work with

Rating: I love Taxslayer. I've used it for 4 years now and have have no problems. I don't mind paying $9.95 for how simple. Sure I would rather pay $0.00 to file which I could, but this is the next best thing to maximize your return.

Rating: No support - when calling the one number that they have available on their site, it will either tell you that the wireless customer you're trying to reach is unavailable, or that TaxSlayer is really busy right now and you should try calling back some other time. Very dissapointed.

Rating: I've used TaxSlayer for three years, and it gets better each year. The basic program does require some tax filing knowledge. The program is quick and accurate, but has a couple of quirks that take a little getting use to. The Federal e-file was free (for me) and $9.95 for my state return. I live in Florida, but have Maine source income (pension). TaxSlayer made my difficult, non-resident, state return easy to file. I’ll use TaxSlayer again next year.

Rating: Great price. Thankful military people are honored. You do need to know some tax law to know where to put information in the forms. No running calculator. Over all pretty good.

Rating: I would definitly reccomend TaxSlayer, for my first time ever doing my own taxes, it was quick & easy and I got back more than when I used H&R Block, I would highly reccommend. I feel like I have been ripped off by H&R Block.

Rating: The product does not do a good job of error checking. An field that should not be blank was not caught in their error checking. Unfortunately I caught it after the taxes were filed, so I need to do an amended return. To help with that, they want an additional $19.95, even though their software should have caught it. I can't recommend any software that adds insult (cost) to injury on a situation like this. I'll do my own 1040-X and move on to some other product for next year.
I suppose if you don't make mistakes that the software should catch then the product is fine.

Rating: Program is easy to navigate through if you have a great deal of knowledge of tax preparation. I am self-employed, and this by far was the best deal financially.
My main complaint is that I referred 10-15 people, per their offer of 20% for anyone I refer this year, and then I get 20% off next year. No one got the referral e-mails, but 1 person, and there was no 20% coupon with her email as promised. I made multiple calls, as 2 people I referred used their service, with no help from TaxSlayer. I really have my doubts that their referral program is legitimate.

Rating: I have an accounting degree and have used Tax Slayer for at least 4 years now and no complaints until this year. It calculated some Recovery Rebate Credit for me, didn't even fill out the whole form and then put it on my return as a credit.
Now when I thought I was getting back $800 I actually owe $140. I have no idea why it would do this. It is a credit for service men and I've never served in the forces. Not sure if I'll use it again. Maybe there guys got lazy with all the stimulus package stuff.
