TaxSlayer is refusing to give me a refund even though i did not use their software. Customer support and software issues are the reason why, but they are still refusing to give me money back. Any letters of negative dealings with taxslayer would be greatly appreciated. |

This software is excellent. I received my refund in two weeks and it only took an hour to file. I suggest this software to anybody that wants a qucik and complete tax return. |

This company and their software are deplorable. I am a CPA who specializes in income taxes and a frequent user of this software until 2008-2009. The multitude of errors compounded with no customer support and flat out incorrect advice should be grounds for this company to be shut down. For example, if you are claiming the home buyers tax credit, you are required to paper file your return, i.e. you cannot e-file and claim the credit. Taxslayer's official advise is to go ahead and e-file your return, then file an amended paper return and home buyer form, at additional cost (read income to taxslayer). Now, if I were to give this advice to a client I would be fully expecting to be fired. A simple solution is to merely print the return from Taxslayer and submit via certified mail. Not to mention, filing an amededed return greatly increases IRS scutiny of your return. All in all, buyer beware of this program and company.. |

I wouldn't recommend these guys even for simple returns. no tech support, no live support. i should have spent the extra 10 bucks and stuck with H&R block. |

I used Taxslayer for 5 years, but won't use it again. I had to pay fines & penalties due to an error they made on my state taxes. The state actually told me that they could see that the error was not my fault, but that doesn't help. |

I have used Tax Slayer since 2005 with no problems. My returns are not complicated, one job plus pension and two states, but I also keep up on credits available to me. I find it very easy to use, maybe because I'm used to using it. I compare my return every year using other online programs, H&R, TaxAct, TurboTax, and almost always find Tax Slayer to give me the best overall return. For tax year 2009, H&R was very close, but wanted much more $$$ to file. I have recommend Tax Slayer to friends and family. As most online sites now advertise, "it's free to try". |

Do not use. I am short $231 due to problem with Taxslayer. They refuse to answer my e-mails. |

I wish i had looked up taxslayer b4 using it, i also have an error that is about a economic recovery and the program does not tell me how to fix it, cant reach them by phone only email, and they say they will respond within 3 days, Used turbotax previous years with no problems. |

Sure it was easy to use, but it was also wrong. It tried to post a 400 retiree credit (I wish) which I could not correct or even locate the entry for, which would have meant... who gets that money? Be careful! Seems dumb to give it any stars.... |

I have used Taxslayer for the past five years without any problems. It's cheap and easy. After seeing the comments about errors not being caught, I will be extra careful to check over my answers on my own before submitting. I'll still use it though. |

2010 software is rejecting returns and it is their program's fault. IRS informed me all four reject codes were with submission of data not my return. Plus they have policy of no refunds. Money should be refunded when it is their error. Filed with another company and return went through so smooth. Beware. |

Program is easy to use and you can't beat the price but I've found several errors in 07 and 08 returns, simple addition and subtraction errors making me wish I had purchased some tax software. I'll never use them again.

Tax Slayer has been the quickest and easiest online filing program.

I have an accounting degree and have used Tax Slayer for at least 4 years now and no complaints until this year. It calculated some Recovery Rebate Credit for me, didn't even fill out the whole form and then put it on my return as a credit.
Not Anymore AccountantNow when I thought I was getting back $800 I actually owe $140. I have no idea why it would do this. It is a credit for service men and I've never served in the forces. Not sure if I'll use it again. Maybe there guys got lazy with all the stimulus package stuff. |

The product does not do a good job of error checking. An field that should not be blank was not caught in their error checking. Unfortunately I caught it after the taxes were filed, so I need to do an amended return. To help with that, they want an additional $19.95, even though their software should have caught it. I can't recommend any software that adds insult (cost) to injury on a situation like this. I'll do my own 1040-X and move on to some other product for next year.
JerryI suppose if you don't make mistakes that the software should catch then the product is fine. |
