TaxAct on-line will not allow me to e-file as it states there is still a delay from the IRS in receiving a few forms...mine being 8853 for Archer HSA's etc. It's been this way on their site for 3 weeks now. Their customer support emails continue to state they when the IRS releases that form (and others) there will be a update to the TaxAct program. Interesting thing is all of the other tax prep sites I've checked do have and support form 8853 for 2010.. TaxAct doesn't allow you to cancel your account and or return, so I'm totally in limbo...even if I wanted to go to another site and file. Last year I will use TaxAct for sure.

I did my taxes 1/30/11. I knew they would not be submitted until 2/14/11. My aunt did hers the same day with another software. She received her refund on 2/25/11. I did not, so I tried to log into my 2010 return. I could not log in. I reentered a new user just to get a contact #. When I called they claimed I never submitted a return. When I told them I checked my bank statement and they had charged me on 1/31/11. She claimed she was going to check to see if she link it to he account. Then she says I've refunded your fee. When I asked what happened to the return, she said it was out in limbo somewhere. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she put me on hold for 4 minutes. When she came back on, she stated that no one knew where the return had gone. Good luck to anyone who uses this program.

I would also leave no stars for them if I could. In the past years I used TurboTax, and it worked great. This year I filed using TaxAct because it was recommended by family, and they said it was free. I've learned I would rather spend the $20 for TT. I opened a brand new account with them, and when I got to the submission part, they charged me $10. Not free. Then a day later they sent me an email saying they were not authorized to submit E-files for me. It took forever to find a number for them, and I was surprised that I didn't get charged. However, the girl who I talked to had no clue what was going on. She couldn't grasp the concept that TA had sent me an email, not the other way around. She told me to reply to the email, so I did. It was an automated email address, with no real person on the other side.

So I called back, and they redirected me to their Customer Support email system on their site. I received an email saying I had submitted my E-file over 5 times. The limit for the free E-file. Impossible. First time ever using the program, and I will never use it again. I filed a week ago and have yet to get a resolution. I guess I will be using my one day off this week to call the IRS and talk to them about this scam of a program called TaxAct.

Save the trouble and spend the $20 on TurboTax.

What was I thinking?? Last year, bought Tax Act and it wasn't Vista compliant. This yr, it seems it isn't ready for windows 7. There support is worthless, unless you wish to be entertained by how bad a third world call center can be. They wanted me to mail in my complaint to get registered before they could assist. Completely disgusted with Tax Act. Even a Saturday night live skit couldn't make it sound worse than reality.

I have used TaxAct for several years.  I used to love the importing of information from prior years and the easy checking of my return against prior years.  These features kept me coming back.  Each year, it seems the features get less and the 'pay for' services increase.  Next year, I'm switching to another company.

I just wasted an entire afternoon using their "fee for everyone" waste of time because when I got to the end, suddenly they wanted a $16.95 product fee.  How is that "free for everyone"???  I cannot find anything on their web site that warns me that I will be charged.  I'll go back to using someone more honest.

This the least helpful software I have ever used.  It does not import old tax files, except for personal information from the PDF of the IRS forms.  It doesn't support cut-and-paste, so you can't copy information.  I could not download stock information from brokers/funds.  It is totally tedious and I would find it easier to enter data directly into a computer version of the tax forms.  Save your money: I am getting another product.

The site works well , but if you own anything forget it. Due to your deductions, Taxact is as slow as the 1980's all paper way. Should have just gone to an accountant. Tried this for lack of time and not worth the long wait.

I have used TaxAct the last 3 years and it is very easy to use.  If you can read English and answer simple fill-in-the-box questions, you will have no trouble. I will use it next year.

I had no problems with TaxAct.com. I have stocks, buys and sells to put in and all other information and it was very easy to do this. I had property tax information, 1099 div, 1099 misc, 1099 int etc. At the end of the screen they have an alert system to see if there are any errors in your tax information. Within 24 hours the federal was excepted and the state was done in 48 hours.

I filed my return with Tax Act and it was accepted by the IRS on January 28. Today is Feb. 11 and according to the IRS, I had a direct deposit today. I do not have the promised Endeavor card. I called yesterday and was told that it was mailed on Monday, Feb. 7. It worries me to think that there is a loaded Mastercard out there with my name on it and money attached to it. I will not use or recommend TaxAct if you need to load your refund on a card. I feel uneasy about this.

Started with the free file option, entered all information, but it still wanted me to pay for it.  What the heck?  No human support whatsoever to contact.  A rip off, considering I can't even print my information.  I'm not a moron; they're just preying on frustrated people who will pay the fee rather than go through the process again.

Tax Act has a problem with Making Work Pay Credit.  I filed then ent back to check status and refund had gone up by 150. I'm now trying to get information on what happened.  Refund has bee delayed.
