It took a little getting used to, filling in the W2 info. It was good to go through and always see the refund or amount as you go. I had a problem with e-filing and I found that frustrating. It didn't help me get to the spot to put in the information, (my AGI from last year) Although the price is very good even though I had to mail it.

Never had any problems. This is my second year using FTU and both times I've noticed that the service is very user-friendly and easy to understand.

I found freetaxusa much easier to navigate than Turbotax.

Turbotax seems to be geared towards people who want to be handheld through the tax interview one time, and then never review the numbers to make sure everything adds up. If you do try to go back through things, you are asked a lot of redundant questions (and pitched upgrade offers) again and again, just to find the numbers you wanted to double-check.

With freetaxusa there is a convenient summary of each section and the overall numbers. The menus let you drill to sections a little more quickly. Each screen is more dense than Turbotax, which means less total pages to complete a section. I find that preferable, although I recognize that some people may prefer to hit next 16 times to complete a section...

Two cons: in the W-2 entry form, a couple of the fields (e.g. State Income) did not have enough digits to enter decimals, and the fields were too small to see the whole number.

Also, some fields do not allow commas, which seem perfectly "safe" to me. (I can't imagine filling out my taxes by hand and being prevented from writing a comma on the paper.)

I have a problem with them. I find it impossible to input W2 info. I sent mine to IRS, absent my salary inputs. Never again. No phone number to call. No review prior to IRS.

This is my 3rd year using FreeTaxUSA and I don't have a single complaint thus far. I will continue to use them until (and I don't anticipate) a problem arises.

This is my second year in a row using this site to file federal and state tax returns for my boyfriend and myself. I love it! It makes the entire process quick & easy (and the charge for filing state returns is half the price of most other sites!). We have never had a problem using the site or getting our refunds. I agree with the previous reviewer who found it helpful that they save your info from previous years. I plan to continue using this service in the future & would absolutely recommend it to friends and family.

They are great... information carries over from year to year, making subsequent returns easy and fast to do. Interview questions are easy to follow and works well for those of us without complicated deductions. Highly recommend them!

I've been using Free Tax USA for 6 years now and I've never had any issues with it. It's extremely easy to use for people like me who have standard tax returns. I've even assisted others (boyfriend turned husband and 3 co-workers) in filing their tax returns and have had no issues or concerns to date. Twice I submitted a message to Customer Service and the first time they responded within 4 minutes (nothing automated because I asked detailed questions), and the 2nd time I messaged them I received a response within 12 minutes (I looked in my history because they don't delete it).

I'm really surprised at the other person's review because I've never had issues with Free Tax USA and I've used them several times, and will continue to.

Awful company. Filed on my taxes on 4-15-08, no refund, and no way to contact anyone. Sent note to their support no answer. My password to this site doesn't work. Got two new passwords messages...says no account found. No tax refund, stimulus check, no way to resolve this. Never again.
